In today’s society it is very important that we look at the appropriate education for our children and young adults. There are many ways of formal intellectual education and education for the body. What we very often miss is the education of the feelings. But without this education young people have difficulties to emotionally manage the challenges of life, which are becoming more and more demanding – one the one hand because there is more and more pressure from society, on the other hand because they often don’t get the support from home. This can lead to stress, depression, lack of self-esteem, violence and addictive behaviour. A very effective way to help young people in their emotional development is the use of an ancient technique: theatre. Through theatre young people learn to express their feelings, they learn teamwork, presentation, communication and conflict resolution skills and they also learn leadership and group facilitation and coordination tools. Theatre is a very simple method that can be applied in any country in the world by people from all social levels. Theatre includes everyone! People will always understand messages that are given through a theatre play.
